Our platform was established in February 2016 specifically for organizing art exhibitions featuring work by refugee artists and artisans, who spent months in Amsterdam emergency shelters. Since the opening of the first show, Take Flight at CBK 2016, NAO has broadened its platform to offer more services to newcomer artists and to mingle them / us up in Amsterdam / Dutch / European society.
The platform, once raised by 3 Amsterdam citizens, now has grown into a serious business, where newcomers and Amsterdam people, museums and organizations really cooperate.
No aid, just working together. On expo’s, programs, lectures and fun meetings.
From 2018, NAO aims to set up working spaces, cultural hubs and outlets. For joints between new and domestic designers, artists and craftspeople.
